Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University, popularly known as B. N. Mandal University (BNMU), is a prestigious State University located in Madhepura, Bihar. Established on 10 January 1992, the university was named after the renowned socialist leader Late Bhupendra Narayan Mandal. Since its inception, BNMU has played a vital role in promoting higher education across the Kosi region of Bihar.
The university serves the districts of Madhepura, Saharsa, and Supaul, while also attracting students from neighboring Nepal due to its proximity to the international border. Spread across nearly 100 acres, the university comprises South Campus (Laloo Nagar, Madhepura), North Campus (Jajhat Sabaila, Singheshwar), and West Campus (MLT College, Saharsa), all equipped with modern academic infrastructure, smart classrooms, advanced laboratories, digital libraries, free Wi-Fi, and research facilities.
Recognized under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, and a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, vocational, technical, teacher education, law, pharmacy, and medical programs through its constituent and affiliated colleges.
